Habitat Potential in the Gardens of Parkview Commons
Take a look at some Franciscan native plants we planted in a little known and seldom seen corner of San Francisco at Parkview Commons Apartments. We have been enjoying lots of new birds and pollinators since the arrival of these plants! https://www.facebook.com/JosiahClarkNaturalist
Habitat Potential on Yerba Buena Island: The Nimitz Slope
Habitat Potential is so lucky to work on Yerba Buena Island, a site overlooking the Bay Area that's ripe with ecological opportunities and challenges. In this first video of our Yerba Buena Island series, we work on Nimitz Slope, a hillside nested beneath the bay bridge, where we work to remove invasive plants and reestablish native plants such as California Poppy and Coast Aster. https://www.facebook.com/JosiahClarkNaturalist
A Day With Native Plant Guru Greg Gaar
Greg Gaar is a huge inspiration for Bay Area environmentalists! He championed native plants, the key to maintaining local fauna, back in the 80's, at a time when few people understood their importance. He's done so much to champion open San Francisco spaces, starting in 1977 with the preservation of Tank Hill. I feel so lucky I got to spend some time with him at his nursery. Shot, edited, and scored by Ray Mullin. https://www.facebook.com/JosiahClarkNaturalist
